Executive Assistant to the Principal, Projects & Operations

This is closer to a chief of staff than a classic executive assistant. The work starts with the principal's vision and direction — from there you decide what needs to happen, build the plan, coordinate the people, and carry it to completion. You'll represent the principal inside the main real estate company, own company projects, and take the lead on other ventures, including brand-new ideas — while also making the everyday run smoothly. Lakewood, NJ area. Compensation commensurate with experience.

A superb executive assistant who executes assigned tasks is not quite what this is. The difference is ownership: being handed an outcome rather than a checklist.

What this actually looks like

Represent & run point

Speak for the principal inside the real estate company, carry company projects forward, and lead new ventures from idea to execution.

Executive & personal

Calendar, travel, documents, repairs, and family logistics — delegating where sensible, but keeping it done.

AI & technology

Genuinely curious about using AI to make research, drafting, and operations faster and sharper.

Not the next task. The outcome.

Handed an idea, the expectation is to understand the vision, decide what has to happen, build the process, coordinate the people, make the reasonable calls independently — and run point until it is finished.

The big
  • Represent the principal within the main real estate company — with staff, partners, and outside professionals
  • Own company projects and keep them moving to completion
  • Serve as the lead on other ventures, including brand-new ideas
  • Take broad ideas and objectives and turn them into clear plans and action steps
  • Run point on initiatives from early concept through implementation
  • Coordinate employees, professionals, vendors, consultants, and outside parties
  • Establish the structure and processes new initiatives need to operate
  • Make reasonable decisions independently — and know when to bring the principal in
The small
  • Calendar, scheduling, travel planning and logistics
  • Preparing, printing, scanning, and mailing documents
  • Appointments, reservations, purchases and returns
  • Coordinating repairs, errands, and family logistics
  • Delegating where appropriate — while owning the finish

The ideal candidate

  • —Highly organized and dependable
  • —Strong judgment and common sense
  • —Resourceful — knows how to figure things out
  • —Takes ownership rather than waiting for instructions
  • —Runs point on projects and new initiatives
  • —Comfortable with large projects and small tasks alike
  • —Communicates clearly and professionally
  • —Knows when to decide and when to ask
  • —Respectfully pushes for deadlines and priorities
  • —Highly discreet and trustworthy
  • —Very comfortable with technology and AI
  • —Little ego about the work that needs doing
What success looks like
“Here is what I want to build or accomplish.”

From there you understand the vision, create the plan, coordinate the people, make the decisions that don't need escalating — and keep it moving. Meanwhile the everyday gets easier, because someone reliable is holding it.

— The hiring team
This is you
  • You'd rather be handed an outcome than a checklist
  • You chase down the last 10% without being asked twice
  • You move comfortably between a board-level plan and a hardware-store run
  • You already use AI daily and keep finding new ways to use it
  • You're calm, discreet, and unbothered by shifting priorities
This probably isn't
  • You want a fixed, narrowly defined scope of work
  • Errands and small practical tasks feel beneath the role
  • You prefer to wait for instructions before acting
  • You'd rather not touch new tools or systems
  • You need every decision approved before you move
